Signs of a Broken Sewer Line

Your sewer line carries everything from the house to the city main. When it cracks or roots get in, the warning signs often show up inside first.

Look out for several drains running slowly at the same time, gurgling toilets, a sewage smell in the basement, and unusually green or soggy patches of lawn above the line.

Older clay and cast-iron lines are most at risk. A camera inspection shows exactly where the damage is before anyone digs.
