7 Sewer Backup Warning Signs Every Homeowner Should Know
A sewer backup rarely happens without warning. These are the signs we see most often before one:
- Water rising in the basement floor drain
- Toilets gurgling when the washing machine drains
- Several slow drains at once
- A sewage smell near drains
- Bubbles in the toilet bowl
- Damp, sunken spots in the yard
- Drain flies that will not go away
If you notice more than one of these, use as little water as possible and call a plumber. A camera inspection shows whether the line is blocked, cracked or full of roots.
